Filmmaking Portfolio

This is a collection of projects I've been involved in where I've taken on a role other than Writing or Editing. I haven't been able to include every single project I've worked on on this website for various reasons, but a full list of projects and references are available upon request.

All Creatures Great and Small (Season 5)

Throughout the summer of 2024 I worked as a Junior Props Trainee for Channel 5's 'All Creatures Great and Small', acting under Playground Television LLC.

This is one of the most well-known shoots I've been a part of, and was a great learning experience as I'd never been part of a high-end TV production before. I was responsible for dressing some of the sets, as well as organising the pick up and drop off of props between different locations.

Attic Archaeology

A short film I made for my second year of University, which was nominated for numerous awards across dozens of festivals, including Best Editing and Best Under 22s at the Fisheye Film Festival, Best Production Design at LUMA and Best Photography at the BIAFF.

I directed, edited, wrote, produced and sound edited the entire film.

Hert's Musical Memories Promotional Documentary

Throughout the winter of 2024 I worked as a Location Sound Recordist and Associate Cinematographer on a Promotional Documentary for the Bushey based dementia/Alzheimer's charity 'Hert's Musical Memories'.

Whilst the documentary is not yet available due to a lengthy post-production, references for proof of work are available upon request or can be sourced from emailing the charity itself.

Meal for Two

One of the higher budget short films I've been a part of making, I was initially set to only act as an assistant director for the film, but due to some clashing schedules, ended up acting in it as well.

The film was sponsored by Techsolvers and filmed in the Georgian Townhouse York. The production even garnered a bit of local press, which can be read here.

Love and Death

A short film made for the University of York's 48-hour Film Challenge. I was responsible for writing, editing, sound recording and assistant directing for much of the shoot.

This was the second time I'd worked with the film production company Lot 108 for this particular festival, and was successful enough that I was invited back the next year to perform similar roles.

The Meditation

A short film made for my third year of University, designed to look like it was made in the late 90s/early 2000s.

It was awarded a first in an Advanced Editing certification designed to test competency with Avid Media Composer. â€‹

The Rat's Nest

A short film made for the University of York's 48-Hour Film Challenge. I acted as an Editor, Writer, Production Designer and Propmaster, as well as helping to plan the look of the film with the directors and cinematographers.

It went on to be shown in an altered form at the Norman Rae Art Gallery's 2023 exhibition on 'Understanding Violence'.

Prometheus

A short film made for the 2025 LUMA Film Festival's 48-hour film challenge (coming third in the competition). I acted as writer, director, editor and sound recordist due to the extremely limited crew.

The film is also currently in consideration for a number of other film festivals.

ROSES - Ballroom Dancing Coverage 2023

I was commissioned by YSTV to produce, direct, and do the live editing (vision mixing) for the coverage of the Ballroom Dance section of ROSES, Europe's largest inter-university varsity competition.

I was also in charge of managing and co-ordinating our coverage with the other media organisations reporting on the event to maintain brand cohesion.

How Not To Do It (season 2)

Throughout 2023 I edited many episodes of the YSTV game show 'How Not To Do It'. This was an important learning curve for me, as it was the first non-fiction series I'd edited for. I had to focus on creating a dynamic edit in the 'YouTube Pitch' style whilst also keeping the episodes I edited standardised with the editing style of the other episodes of the season.

Only Conjoin (pilot)

The Pilot to a Game Show created for YSTV in 2024, edited in a deliberately 'childish' style at the request of the broadcaster.

Not only did I create and edit the show, but also hosted it due to the original host dropping out.

Blades of Grass

I acted as Producer, Assistant Director, Director of Photography and Sound Recordist for this short film for YSTV.

Created by Ben Broom, the film went on to win a Silver Drama Awards at NASTA, the National Student Television Awards.
